A lot of our customers tell us they love to sink the AC at night. They want to be nice and cool so they can snuggle with their honey under the covers.
We can’t blame them 🙂
But is too much AC really a good thing?
Not always. Sometimes too much AC can lead to excess humidity and eventually to the 4 letter word no one wants to hear…MOLD.
Impact of Insulation
Did you know that the type of insulation in your home GREATLY impacts your air conditioning unit?
Sure you probably guessed that something like spray foam insulation helps keep your home cooler or warmer depending on the season. But do you really understand how that impacts your AC system?
Normal R grade insulation is different from spray foam insulation. Spray foam creates a more complete barrier. The effect is that moisture gets trapped in the house.
Please understand…we’re not saying that this is a good or bad thing. It simply is what it is…
When there is moisture in a house, you need to make plans to regulate it, which is where your AC system comes in.
If you had spray foam installed since your AC system was installed, it might be a good idea to schedule a consultation so we can review how your system is performing.
Maintaining an ideal level of moisture in the home here in south Louisiana can be a tricky thing. You may have noticed we have a bit of humidity LOL.
That’s why it’s important to have your equipment regularly serviced and indoor air quality checked by a certified AC contractor.
